The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty excited after learning that a move for Wilfried Zaha appears to be edging closer…
According to the Sun, Zaha is set to turn down the offer of an extended deal at Crystal Palace in favour of a move away – with Tottenham currently leading the race for the winger.
This has delighted those in the pub, with Zaha clearly a player on the up. Indeed, the Ivory Coast international appears to have recovered from a lull in form following a spell at Manchester United, with Sam Allardyce really bringing the best out of him.
Offering direct running and an impressive goal threat, Zaha is undoubtedly Crystal Palace’s most threatening player, and a move to a better Premier League side would certainly seem like a natural development. Tottenham could have a spot for him, too, with Moussa Sissoko struggling during his debut season in London following a move from Newcastle.
Our landlord isn’t sure that Zaha would be a regular starter at first, but he also thinks that nobody would be better to coach him than Mauricio Pochettino.
