The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get concerned at their side’s lack of summer activity…
Whilst sides around them including Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd are spending big, the Lilywhites are remaining comparably quiet – leaving those in the pub concerned that they may fall behind.
However, it appears as though Tottenham are finally beginning to make some moves, with Polish publication Sport reporting that the Lilywhites have made a move for Polish defender Kamil Glik. It is noted that Tottenham have made him an offer of over €4 million (£3.5 million) per year to move to London.
Reports of an arrival for Glik were met with a few sights in the Transfer Tavern, with Tottenham fans concerned that their side wants to sign a player that is already 29-years-old. However, whilst that is true, what Glik would bring is years of experience. He was a key player for Monaco last season as the French side stormed to the Ligue 1 title – and his experience of winning a domestic league is important for Tottenham as they look to complete that feat next season.
He would also serve as a vital piece of depth for Mauricio Pochettino, with the Lilywhites not blessed with a large quantity of players within their playing squad.
In truth, whilst this isn’t a popular move in the Transfer Tavern, our landlord thinks that it might be a stroke of genius from Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino – provided that it actually happens of course.
