Tottenham reportedly want to sign £22.5m-rated attacker and fans aren’t too happy about it

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are already starting to think about the summer transfer window. It was an unusually quiet January for the Lilywhites, which certainly came as a surprise.

Whilst there is no doubting that Tottenham are a team on the up under Mauricio Pochettino, it hasn’t been an easy season for them. They’re far from certain to secure a top-four finish this season, whilst their Champions League chances this term are set to go down to one game with Juventus next month.

Sure, things could all turn round quite quickly, but they could equally all fall apart just as fast.

Even if a top-four finish is secured, it’s clear that the team needs improving ahead of next season, and according to the Mirror, plans are being made to that end. The Mirror is reporting that Wilfried Zaha is a target for the Lilywhites, with a summer move potentially in the offing.

A Premier League star, Zaha has impressed for Crystal Palace over the last few years, quickly emerging as their most impressive attacker. He’s rated at £22.5 million by Transfer Markt, but Crystal Palace could well demand far beyond that price, meaning that a move could require huge investment.

This, seemingly, doesn’t look like something that Tottenham fans are ready to get behind, with fans over on Twitter doing their best to shut down any suggestion that a deal could be forthcoming. Indeed, fans are viewing Zaha as a wasted target, particularly following the arrival of Lucas Moura, with very few seemingly in favour of a move.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
