Tottenham Hotspur fans have enjoyed a tremendous weekend in the Transfer Tavern, as they extended their advantage over Arsenal in the Premier League standings, and it seems the club wants to get another over their arch-rivals.
The Daily Mail states Tottenham Hotspur have revived their interest in Southampton ace Victor Wanyama, who looks set to leave the south coast this summer as he has just one-year remaining on his contract.
Kenyan international Wanyama as excelled with the Saints since joining the club from Celtic, helping Ronald Koeman’s side push for a Europa League finish this term, but the 24-year-old is unlikely to remain at St Mary’s.
Arsenal have held long-term interest in the combative midfielder but Tottenham will feel they boast and advantage due to the relationship Wanyama holds with Mauricio Pochettino, who managed the African ace during his time with Southampton.
Whilst the Saints would prefer to keep Wanyama, and for the midfielder to sign a new contract, both of those scenarios look unlikely and the club will see Wanyama’s value drop significantly if they keep him into next season.
Spurs fans, is there room in your midfield for Wanyama? Let us know in the comments below!
