Tottenham Hotspur will be confident that they can challenge for the title in the current campaign having enjoyed an impressive start to proceedings.
The Lilywhites have proved so far this season that you don’t need to splash the cash to enjoy success in the Premier League, despite losing to Watford. Although, it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino may take up a different approach in the future, as according to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong.
Indeed, the London club have had scouts check out highly-rated midfielder Frenkie de Jong off the back of failing to make a signing over the summer.
The 21-year-old, who is rated at around £40 million, doesn’t appear to be in any hurry to ply his trade abroad at such an early stage of his career.
And, it’s thought that Tottenham will continue to keep tabs on the midfielder, with Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund also watching closely.
Tottenham Hotspur are one of the form teams in the Premier League at this moment in time, despite not spending a penny over the course of the summer.
But, it now looks as if they could splash the cash in the future with Frenkie de Jong in their sights. The Dutchman is tipped for big things and has already shown his quality at such a young age, so he could turn out to be a real asset for Spurs if they can land him in the future.
