News is breaking in the Football Transfer Tavern as Sky Sport Italia suggest via Eurosport.com that Tottenham Hotspur have seen a bid of £17 million for Inter Milan powerhouse Fredy Guarin turned down.
The Colombian international, who made 30 appearances for the Italian giants last term, has been repeatedly linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer as Andre Villas-Boas looks for a reunion with the midfielder who he worked with so successfully at FC Porto during the 2011 season.
However after Spurs’ bid thought to be around 20 million Euros was dismissed for the creative midfielder, the reported transfer impasse could make the switch unlikely.
Spurs fans in the tavern are not too surprised that the bid was rejected after the 26-year-old was only quoted as saying yesterday: “I won’t be leaving, I will be staying at Inter. I still have a lot to learn and I only joined Inter about a year ago. Inter are a great club with a great squad.
“I am playing my football in Milan with the intention of making history.”
Given his insistence that he will remain in Italy should AVB now look to other possible targets? Let us know your thought below.
