Tottenham set for massive transfer window lift

Gareth BaleTottenham supporting punters in the Football Transfer Tavern breathed a huge sigh of relief after hearing that Tottenham winger Gareth Bale is set to stay at White Hart Lane even if the club do not reach the top four, as reported by the Daily Star.

Bale was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the summer, especially as it appears Spurs have an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League after a poor run of form.

Spurs face Southampton tomorrow in a must win game before a derby day six pointer against in form Chelsea.

Bale signed a four-year contract last summer in North London and it appears the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year will stick to that deal for now.

“The player is here to remain, independent of the objectives of Champions League qualification being achieved or not,” Andre Villas-Boas said.

“It’s impossible to predict, but this is the assurance I have had from the club.

“We understand that the more awards the more recognition the player will have, the more media attention. But the club has to move forward by holding onto its best players like Gareth.”

Will Bale keep his word and remain with the Lilywhites next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
