Tottenham set to beat Liverpool to the signing of 24-year-old star

TrippierTottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are encouraged by their club’s early movements so far this summer after the Daily Mirror revealed they had made the first move to sign Burnely defender Kieran Trippier.

The right back, who was formerly an England Under 21 international, had an impressive season in the Premier League despite Burnely getting relegated.

He is seen as the perfect player to support Kyle Walker, who has had persistent injury problems.

The 24-year-old has a £3.5m release clause and it is believed Spurs are looking to get this deal over and done with as soon as possible.

Liverpool and Southampton are also linked with the defender, which is why Spurs are hoping their early bid will give them an advantage.

Liverpool, who have already taken Danny Ings away from Turf Moore, will hope that Trippier will follow in the same footsteps as his former teammate.
