Tottenham set to move for Bundesliga defender

Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United - Capital One Cup Quarter FinalTottenham fans in Football Transfer Tavern are putting their faith with Mauricio Pochettino after the Daily Mail linked them with a move to sign FC Koln defender Kevin Wimmer.

Wimmer, who has excelled in the Austrian Under 21’s, is a strong young defender coming through the ranks in the Bundesliga and Spurs have sent scouts over to monitor him on several occasions this season.

It is believed that Wimmer is on the top of Pochettino’s wishlist as the Argentinian tactician is preparing for a busy summer as he looks to bring his own players in.

Wimmer, 22, has impressed the scouts from North London and it is believed that he has pushed himself right into the forefront of Pochettino’s mind.

Local reports in Germany have said that Spurs have agreed a deal with Koln for the defender as well as finalising personal terms, but this has not been confirmed as of yet.

A few Spurs fans over by the pool table in the Transfer Tavern admit that they have never actually heard of the defender, but they all feel they can trust Pochettino in his decision making!
