Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are reviewing their club’s options after the London Evening Standard revealed Spurs have numerous ideas to get around Southampton’s £20m asking price for Morgan Schneiderlin.
Mauricio Pochettino is considering using Andros Townsend or Benjamin Stambouli in a bid to secure a deal for the French international, who today was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Spurs will hope their passion to land the midfielder will keep out Chelsea and Arsenal, who have also shown an interest.
Southampton’s asking price of £20m is not surprising and with Daniel Levy being a shrewd businessman he will try his best to drive a hard bargain.
And with Spurs expected to spend big money in the summer, Levy will try and offload some deadwood in the same process, hoping they can pay just under £10m to complete the move.
