The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for Mauricio Pochettino to sign a few players in January. It has been a strong start to the season for the Lilywhites, but as is always the case in the Premier League, improvement is still needed. Fortunately for Spurs, an opportunity to improve is coming in a few weeks, with the January transfer window on the horizon.
Between now and that point, though, it makes sense for Spurs to begin their preparations for who they would like to sign, and our landlord thinks that Tottenham’s upcoming game against West Brom could offer an opportunity to do just that. The Baggies have a strong side, and one player could be of particular interest to the Lilywhites: Jay Rodriguez.
Pochettino is known to be a big fan of the attacker, as reported by the Evening Standard earlier this year, and whilst he wasn’t able to land the attacker on that occasion, that doesn’t mean he won’t be available in January.
A very exciting talent, Rodriguez would offer Pochettino another option in the attack, and given how many games the Lilywhites have to contend with over the coming months, that can only be a good thing.
He won’t be a cheap option, of course, but he’d be a fantastic signing if he can be lured from the Hawthornes. This weekend offers a great chance for Tottenham scouts to get a good look at him.
