Tottenham sounded out for transfer as club look to secure deal for disappointing striker

The Tottenham fans have been seriously disappointed with a few of their signings this season…

The likes of Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Moussa Sissoko have really disappointed, but the player that has drawn the ire of the Tottenham fans in the Tavern is Vincent Janssen.

The Dutchman has seriously struggled this season, leaving the Lilywhites in the pub lost for words.

It seemed obvious, then, that Tottenham might want to sign another forward that is more capable of challenging Harry Kane – but the last thing that our Spurs patrons wanted was to see their club sign another flop.

According to the Mirror, Tottenham have been sounded out over a potential deal for Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro – with the Spanish side keen to move the disappointing striker on. Interestingly, the Mirror also note that Tottenham could actually be open to the idea of a deal.

Since joining the Spanish side he has struggled to make a significant impact and has fallen behind Antoine Griezmann in the pecking order at the Vicente Calderón Stadium.

So far this season, Gameiro has bagged 9 goals and 5 assists.

The reports, of course, come off the back of an impressive weekend for Tottenham’s current number 9 Harry Kane. The English forward bagged a hat-trick in the FA Cup, and that has left a few of our Spurs punters thinking that he is good enough to lead the line on his own for the next few years.
