It’s FA Cup fifth round day in the Football Transfer Tavern; one our favourites days in the football calendar.
Punters have been really getting into the spirit with some inflatable FA Cups floating around the bar area.
Following the day’s action, some gossip breaks into the bar that has left some of the Tottenham supporters looking worried.
The Mirror report that Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris has emerged as a summer transfer target for Atletico Madrid as they prepare for life without on loan shot stopper thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing back the young Belgian international, who is currently on his third and final loan spell with the La Liga club.
If Atletico want to keep Courtois on a permanent deal they must find around £35 million which seems well out of their price range.
And now it appears that Atletico have outlined a move for Tottenham’s French keeper, who had recently stated his desire to play in the Champions League next term.
The Lilywhites are desperate to keep hold of Lloris, who is regarded as one of the best in the Premier League, but a failure to qualify for the Champions League could make things very difficult with the 27-year-old clearly wanting to play at the highest level.
Would Spurs have any business selling Lloris? Who would you want to replace the French international if he does leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
