Metro have a claim that certainly has Tottenham Hotspur fans looking concerned here in the Football Transfer Tavern and the North London faithful want to find out more.
According to our landlord, Hugo Lloris is still a target for Paris Saint-Germain – despite putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Premier League side only last month.
Whilst we fully expect Spurs to do everything they can to hold onto the French star, PSG have a fair bit of cash to tempt him – and the lure of Champions League football to boot – not to mention a return home to the continent.
Should Lloris try and push through a move, Spurs fans can at least comfort themselves with the fact that they have a rather good back-up option in Michel Vorm, who they have just signed from Swansea City.
With neither Vorm or Lloris willing to sit on the bench during the peak of their careers, we have to wonder if netting the Dutchman wasn’t paving the way for Lloris to leave in the near future anyway.
Spurs fans. Do you think this is the case and the new deal was just to force PSG to fork out more money for Lloris? Let us know your thoughts below.
