Metro have a stunning claim to say the least for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern today as they claim that Tottenham star Gareth Bale could well be set to force a move to Real Madrid this summer.
The Spanish giants have made no secret of their desire to land the Welshman and now feel that they have done their part in the transfer so far – nothing more can be done by the Spanish side until Bale has made the next move, and according to the Metro, that will involve his ‘nice guy’ approach in order to force the transfer.
Florentino Perez would prefer Bale to publicly ask for a move, forcing Spurs hand, yet the forward and his advisers are keen to still keep their image in tact and are hoping that some soft persuasion from the player will do the trick.
Bale is planning on going to Daniel Levy and explaining his desire to move, and noting that he will wait for an amicable agreement between the clubs before making any desire public. Real of course have seen Neymar join Barcelona and are currently hoping that they can make a world record signing of Bale to balance that out.
With Real Madrid closing in on Isco, is Bale more likely to depart for Real Madrid next summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
