QPR fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given a boost heading into January after the London Evening Standard linked them with a move to sign Andros Townsend on loan from Tottenham for a second time.
Harry Redknapp is positive that he can capitalise on the 24-year-old’s frustrating situation at White Hart Lane as he hopes he can tempt him with regular first team football.
The England international has only made one start under new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and it is clear that he desperate for first team football.
If Redknapp is able to bring him in on loan then it would see Townsend enjoy his second loan spell at Loftus Road after joining the Hoops’ failed survival fight in the 2012/13 relegation season.
Townsend is thought to have a good relationship with the former Spurs boss and boasts pace and confidence on the ball that could help the Loftus Road-based side stay in the top flight.
Loan deals are supposedly the only moves the R’s board are allowing Redknapp to make as it appears the West London club are working with a very tight budget unlike in previous years.
