This is after the London Evening Standard reported that Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Harry Kane’s long-term future is at Spurs despite speculation linking him with a move away from North London.
The 21-year-old has impressed many at White Hart Lane after scoring seven goals in six starts, including his first career hat-trick against Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League last week.
But despite this great goal return, he is still waiting for his first league start, which has led to speculation linking the youngster with a move away from Spurs with The Sun linking Southampton with a £10 million swoop in recent days.
He has only managed to accumulate 62 minutes of Premier League action thus far this season, still playing second fiddle to Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor, frustrating our resident Lilywhites fanatics by the bar who refer to him as the ‘Hurrikane’!
“Harry is a very important player and I am sure he will stay with us for a long time,” Pochettino told reporters.
Despite Kane being seen as the third choice striker, his manager has said that there is a possibility he will be in the Spurs starting line-up in the near future.
The Argentine added: “Harry shares a position with other players in the squad and all the players have the opportunity to play and to show themselves.
“There will be many changes and maybe Harry will be in the first 11.”
