The Daily Mail have a claim that Tottenham Hotspur fans are smiling at here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They note that Hugo Lloris will cost any club at least £100 million should they want to lure him away from White Hart Lane.
The reason for this frankly ludicrous price tag is that the goalkeeper has been expressing an interest in playing Champions League football, and has attracted the attentions of Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG are no stranger to flirting with Premier League players, with Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Oscar on their radar as well.
Much like Jose Mourinho placed a rather crazy £300 million price tag on the duo’s heads, Tim Sherwood has taken a similar approach.
He spoke about Lloris and his future, and noted: “He is one of the top goalies and unless someone is going to spend £100m on him, and keepers do not get bought for that money, I don’t think he will leave.
“He is one of the best keepers around. Of course people are going to want him. But I’m also sure the club won’t be tempted to get rid of him.”
As our punters note, we are not at all surprised that Lloris is looking away from White Hart Lane after the season Spurs have had – and the top four does look further away than ever before.
Do you think Lloris would try and force a move despite the price tag on his head? Let us know your thoughts below.
