Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have a nervous look on their face as they enter the finale of the Premier League title race but they’re confident of progression on the transfer market.
French outlet FootMercato state Tottenham Hotspur have surged to the front of the queue in the race for Lille ace Sofiane Boufal, by submitting a £16m offer and a five-year contract to the player.
The 22-year-old has excelled for the French side this season and has scored 12 goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances but is expected to leave Lille this summer, as the French side could miss out on European football altogether.
Boufal has attracted plenty of suitors across Europe, including from Arsenal, but Tottenham also face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, amongst others.
With Lille looking for a fairly low fee for the player, just £16m, the race for the youngster’s signature could prove to be a hotly-contested battle this summer and it may come down to who can offer Champions League football and regular first-team opportunities.
Spurs fans, would Boufal slot straight into your first eleven? Let us know in the comments below!
