A Football Transfer Tavern regular popped in earlier to claim that The Daily Mirror are reporting that Sevilla winger Diego Perotti has confirmed his interest in a proposed move to Tottenham during the upcoming transfer window.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been strongly tipped to make a switch to White Hart Lane in recent weeks, and manager Andre Villas-Boas is though to be an admirer of the pacey wide man.
One name that Spurs supporters really don’t want to hear after yesterday’s miserable trip to the Etihad Stadium has just been mentioned. Our Spanish expert is the man getting all the dirty looks from Lilywhites fans in the bar after he explains that Perrotti has stepped up at Sevilla after the summer departure of Jesus Navas, who netted twice yesterday for City, to Manchester.
However he has been disappointed with his recent form at the La Liga club and has now admitted that a move to the Premier League would be something that interested him.
‘A transfer is definitely possible in the winter market,’ he told the Spanish media when asked about links to English football.
‘I’ve not been playing well recently and I need to find my best form, but something could happen.’
Why not grab a seat, order a pint and some peanuts to find out if this is a transfer which could be run and run during the New Year.
