Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the Cardiff City Stadium on New Year’s Day to face Cardiff City.
Mauricio Pochettino will want to see his side react immediately following their surprise defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
Tottenham’s slip-up saw them return to third in the Premier League and now sit nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
Spurs will now turn their attention to Cardiff, who have quietly been climbing up the table, and will be keen to return to winning ways.
Serge Aurier is fit once again and is in contention for the trip to Wales, as Tottenham could look to mix things up a little.
The Ivorian has been out for the last three weeks with a groin problem but could be thrown into the first-team.
However, Spurs will be without Victor Wanyama, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Erik Lamela for the trip.
Tottenham will want to bounce back quickly and will want to ensure they are not on the wrong end of a surprise result again.
Aureir’s return could be a significant boost to their chances as Pochettino could look to shake things up with his team selection.
The Ivorian’s return will also be a timely boost to the team as they start to get a number of their players back from spells on the sidelines.
