Tottenham team news: Pochettino could have five men available for Burnley encounter

Tottenham Hotspur will return to Premier League action this weekend when they host Burnley at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be in a jubilant mood after qualifying for the next stage of the Champions League after drawing with Barcelona, but the Argentine will be keen to see his side keep their focus on the field.

And, it appears as though Spurs could have some good news heading into the game with the struggling Clarets.

According to a match preview by Sky Sports, five men could return to the senior fold for the visit of Burnley.

Kieran Trippier, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier are all thought to be in contention of making returns to the team after injury lay-offs.

Jan Vertonghen is also available for Pochettino to consider after the Belgium international defender completed his suspension following the red card during the north London derby.

The Verdict:

Although it will remain to be seen if any of the aforementioned players will feature, it will certainly be a huge boost for Pochettino and Tottenham.

With the games set to come at a frantic pace over the next month or so, it will be pleasing for Spurs to see so many names verging on returns.

Considering that all of the players are also defenders will be a huge boost to the club as well, as they look to keep their place within the top four of the Premier League.
