Tottenham Hotspur will look to take second place in the Premier League when they host Newcastle United at Wembley in Saturday’s early kickoff.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be able to leapfrog Manchester City – who play Arsenal on Sunday – and will be looking to replicate their opponents result against them in midweek.

However, they will need to be wary of Rafa Benitez’s side as they look to build on from that impressive win and also may have a bounce in their step following their transfer business in January.

And, according to their official website, Spurs will be without three of their players for the game against Newcastle.

Ben Davies remains absent as he continues to recover from the groin injury he picked up against Chelsea towards the end of last month.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli also remain unavailable for the match as they continue to sit on the sidelines with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.

The Verdict:

Tottenham will be determined to pick up the three points on Saturday as it keeps them in the race for the Premier League title, especially with Man City and Liverpool to play later on in the weekend.

However, with some of their key men still unavailable and Newcastle likely to be on a high, it could be a potential banana skin for Pochettino’s side.

Watford proved to be a tough encounter in midweek and Spurs had to rely on the likes of Heung-Min Son and may have to do so again in Kane’s absence.
