Tottenham Hotspur head to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night as they look to secure their place in the next round of the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side hold a three-goal advantage following their 3-0 win at Wembley three weeks ago and will feel confident that they can advance to the quarter-finals.
However, Spurs have had a rather poor run of form following that win, with defeats to Burnley and Chelsea, before being held to a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby last weekend.
But, Tottenham’s chances of overcoming the Bundesliga side will have been given an encouraging boost ahead of the game.
According to the club’s official website, both Harry Winks and Eric Dier are in contention of featuring for the Premier League outfit.
Winks missed the north London derby with a hip problem that he sustained in the defeat to Chelsea, whilst Dier has missed the last five games with Tonsillitis.
It is understood Pochettino will make a late decision regarding the midfield duo.
Although Tottenham already have one foot in the next round of the Champions League, they will need to be at their very best to ensure they do qualify for the latter stages.
And, the news that both Winks and Dier are both in contention for the game will come as an encouraging boost to Pochettino and his side.
The pair have the ability to be defensive stars for Spurs and having them back in the side will help them to book their place in the next round.
