Apparently, according to The Mirror, the North London club are keeping tabs on Memphis Depay who currently plays for PSV Eindhoven.
He’s being labelled as the latest wonderkid to come out of Dutch football and has a sizeable price tag to boot.
Depay’s agent claims that a bid of £17 million would be close to what the Eredivisie club are looking for and Mauricio Pochettino could be set to test that theory.
However he is likely to face a fight, and a very tough fight, with Louis van Gaal.
van Gaal, who has recently taken over at Manchester United, is a big fan of Depay having coached him at international level.
In fact Depay has impressed so much that he gets the nod ahead of more senior players such as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
van Gaal’s faith in the striker paid off against Australia as he netted a long range winner.
And now both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United could battle it out for his signature.
Manchester United and Tottenham fans: Impressing in Holland is a lot easier than impressing in the Premier League – just ask Jozy Altidore. But do you think the Dutch wonder kid can set the Premier League alight? Let us know your thoughts below.
