Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern now know that they won’t be seeing Gareth Bale in a Spurs shirt again with the Welsh international set to confirm his move to Real Madrid this week.
They are also smarting after seeing reported transfer target Willian sign for Chelsea instead of making the move to White Hart Lane despite undertaking a medical at Spurs.
However their mood has been improved as Mirror Football report that Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a massive £30 million offer for Brazilian powerhouse Hulk.
The former Porto boss has already been busy in the transfer market but is set to land Roma forward Erik Lamela and Romanian defender Vlad Chirches in the coming days once the transfer for Bale to Spain is announced.
However Villas-Boas is now ready to move for his former striker at Porto as he looks to beef up his current strikeforce and is wiling to smash the club’s record fee for the third time this summer with a deadline-day swoop for Hulk.
When asked if he was closing in on a deal, Villas-Boas did not deny any interest, saying: “He is not our player, so I find it difficult to respond.”
Hulk only joined current club Zenit St Petersburg in a £39.5 million deal last summer but he has struggled to settle in Russia with just 13 goals in his 35 appearances and he could be ready for a possible reunion with Villas-Boas at Spurs.
Will Hulk make the switch to White Hart Lane this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
