There are some seriously interested faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail claim that Gareth Bale could well be set to be offered a mega deal to stay with Spurs.
The North London club are desperately trying to hold onto their star man and have seen the media full of speculation in recent days that Bale will in fact be making a move to Real Madrid after Marca claimed that the forward had agreed personal terms with Florentino Perez’s side and was set to become the subject of an £85 million package deal to bring him to the Bernabeu. Now it seems that Daniel Levy is set on keeping the player for at least one more season and the side are set to offer Bale a huge new deal in order to persuade him to stay at the club.
The deal is thought to be worth around £150,000 per week in wages to the player, breaking the current pay structure at the club. of course anyone who has seen Bale play will agree that such wages are no more than he deserves and when you consider the commercial value of the player to boot, Spurs could well afford to offer him more. Bale has often spoken out about his happiness at the club and indeed his good relationship with manager Andre Villas-Boas and the Spurs board are hoping that will be a key factor in keeping the Welshman at the club that little bit longer.
