Tottenham Hotspur could face some stiff competition from their arch-rivals to land a potential transfer target in the summer.
According to a report by TeamTALK, both Spurs and Arsenal are thought to be interested in signing Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals.
Manchester City are also believed to be keeping tabs on the midfielder, as scouts have issued glowing references on his ability.
The 23-year-old has been impressive for the Yellow Submarines in what has been a difficult season for the club, as they continue to fight for survival in La Liga – despite doing well in the Europa League.
And, it is claimed their playmaker could be a player that departs from the club in the summer on a relatively low fee, with a clause in his contract allowing him to go for a transfer fee of €25million.
Tottenham could do with a player of Fornals’ ability and quality, however, it appears they will face some real competition to land him.
The 23-year-old could be a perfect player for Mauricio Pochettino to help guide and develop into the talented playmaker many expect him to turn into.
However, with the prospect of joining either Arsenal or Manchester City as well, Spurs could have a real battle on their hands to bring him to the club.
