Paul Brown from the Daily Star has entered the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon with news that Tottenham Hotspur have taken the first steps to signing Valencia forward Roberto Soldado by submitting a £17 million offer for the Spain international.
Andre Villas-Boas’ summer plans have already started to come together after it was revealed yesterday by the player himself that Brazilian Confederations Cup star Paulinho has agreed to join the club in a £17.1 million deal from Corinthians.
After this very positive start to the transfer window Spurs supporters in the tavern are just as happy with the reports from Brown who suggests that Valencia may sell their star striker this summer with Tottenham ready to pounce.
The La Liga side have well-known financial problems and this could see the Mestalla-based club accepting Daniel Levy’s latest offer despite the 28-year-old having a £26 million release clause in his contract and being under contract under 2017.
Villas-Boas wants to secure two top class strikers this summer as he looks to put together another successful season at White Hart Lane with Soldado’s international team-mate David Villa among those on his wanted list.
Will Tottenham be able to persuade Valencia to part with their captain for £17m? Rate this rumour below.
