Mauricio Pochettino may have a knack of bringing through a number of talented players through Tottenham Hotspur’s academy ranks.
However, it appears one man may not be able to do the same as the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp to name but a few to have made a rather successful transition.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham are prepared to tell Connor Ogilvie that he does not have a future at the club and is free to find another club.
The 23-year-old has been impressing for Gillingham on loan this season, however, Spurs have decided not to offer him a new contract.
It is hardly a surprise to hear that Ogilvie will not be handed a new contract at Tottenham this summer as the club already have a number of defenders to choose from.
The 23-year-old, who is naturally a left-back but has been played as a centre-back for the League One outfit this season, has not played a senior game for the Premier League side.
It would make sense for Ogilvie to leave this summer as he is currently at the moment of his career where he needs to be playing regular football and it is all-but-certain that will happen at the New White Hart Lane Stadium.
Whether Gillingham look to take him permanently remains to be seen, however, he has put in some important and impressive performances for the Gills as they look to fight bravely against relegation to League Two.
Tottenham fans, do you think it is for the best to see Ogilvie to depart in the summer? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
