The Football Transfer Tavern is getting into the Valentines Day spirit today, although that mostly involves single men sat round the bar drowning their sorrows.
It now appears that there is a bit of love in from Tottenham and Aston Villa for Ajax’s highly-rated attacker Davy Klaassen, according to talkSPORT.
The Holland Under-21 international has reportedly come onto the tavern’s radar in the last few months as speculation picks up about his future.
Already, Manchester United and Chelsea are understood to have had scouts at recent Ajax matches as they keep tabs on the 20-year-old.
Klaassen was named the best player at the AEGON Future Cup in 2010, and is one of the hottest properties in Europe with both Villa and Spurs keen to register their interest in the youngster.
Ajax’s director of football Marc Overmars has already made it clear that no members of the very talented young ranks at the Amsterdam Arena will be sold in the summer.
However with interest growing daily, we’ll be surprised if the interest isn’t followed up when the season comes to an end.
