Tottenham want to agree terms with 21-year-old with offer reportedly coming soon

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were crammed into the Transfer Tavern on Sunday to watch one of their own take centre stage for his country…

Young Harry Winks was called up to the England senior side for the first time in his career as the Three Lions continued their World Cup qualifying campaign, and he was given a chance to shine at the weekend.

In typical fashion, he put in a classy and composed performance – impressing everyone in the pub through the midfielder.

It’s been a great few weeks for Winks, but according to the Times, it’s poised to get even better. The Times is reporting that Winks is in-line for a new deal at Tottenham, with the club keen to ‘accelerate’ their plans and get a deal done. An offer is said to be on its way at some point this season.

It would be a real show of faith from Tottenham to agree fresh terms with Winks, but it would be no less than he deserves. He’s one of Europe’s brightest young talents, and it’s clear that he is perfect for the Tottenham midfield.

Offering composure, technical skill and fantastic passing, he is just what Tottenham – and England – need through the midfield.

He has a contract until 2022, and so there’s no real rush for Tottenham, but they’ll want to reward him for his fine form.

Landlord’s Verdict

Winks has really grabbed his chance this season, and he looks set to be yet another one of Mauricio Pochettino’s prodigies in the first team at Tottenham.

If he continues his fine form, there’s no doubt that more England caps will come, and a new deal makes sense for all parties given his sensational start to the campaign.
