Tottenham want Welsh international as first summer signing

4364368There’s loads of World Cup excitement in the Football Transfer Tavern today but it’s domestic football that is currently the hot topic for Tottenham fans.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to make Swansea City left back Ben Davies his first signing in a shock £8 million deal.

It comes as a bit of a surprise to many but Spurs have apparently approached the Welsh club with an offer for the Welsh international.

The 21-year old, who rose through the ranks at the Liberty Stadium to become a full Wales international, is being earkmarked as a replacement for Englishman Danny Rose.

Davies has already played 71 senior games for the Welsh outfit and is the first choice for his country at left back.

The Swans are reluctant to sell this summer; in fact they are keen on bolstering their squad, but the offer is so large that they may find it hard to refuse.

New full-time boss Garry Monk has already started a search for a replacement and would get all of the money from Spurs to spend.

Tottenham fans. Does Danny Rose need to be replaced at White Hart Lane and if so is Ben Davies the man to step in? Let us know your thoughts below.
