The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a few signings over the coming months…
Whilst the January transfer window has only just closed, thoughts amongst the Lilywhites in the Tavern are already beginning to turn to next season – with the Premier League title dream looking less and less likely by the week.
Their side has looked good for parts of the season, but Pochettino still needs to work on his consistency – and for that, a few signings are going to be needed.
And whilst many in the Transfer Tavern have been hoping that a few major names could come to Tottenham in the coming months, it would appear as though the Spurs brass primarily has their focus set on signing a talented young star.
According to the Sun, Tottenham have taken 15-year-old Dutch goalkeeper Nick Weegink on trial, with the youngster seemingly hoping to secure a long-term deal at the club.
It isn’t the sort of signing that many in the pub were hoping for, but it reaffirms Mauricio Pochettino’s focus on young players and ensuring the progression of players within the Tottenham academy.
Harry Winks is the latest in a long line of Tottenham youngsters to break into the first team, and whilst Weegink is just 15-years-old – Pochettino has already proved that age is not a factor in his team selection.
Weegink currently represents the youth team of Dutch fourth-tier side ATC’65.
