Tottenham and Liverpool fans have been getting in each other’s faces in the Transfer Tavern ahead of this weekend’s crunch-tie in the Premier League- but we’re thankful that one argument can be settled immediately.
Jurgen Klopp is renowned for his fluid style of football, where his team out-run the opposition, and he’s expected to imprint his tactics into Liverpool for his first game in charge. However, Tottenham striker Harry Kane says the North London side will better their opponents in this area.
The comments from the England international caused quite a stir at the bar but data revealed by EA Sports’ Player Performance Index shows that the striker has a point.
Tottenham have outrun their opponents in every Premier League game so far this term, averaging 5.4km more than their opponents with an impressive 115.7km per game.
After beating both Manchester clubs and a hard-working Leicester City side in this area, you’d expect Tottenham to give Liverpool a real run for their money this weekend- and they could ruin Klopp’s welcoming party at Anfield.
