The Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving life under Mauricio Pochettino as they look set to compete for the Premier League title for the second successive season.
Saturday’s 4-0 win against West Brom was their sixth top-flight triumph in a row, and they have shown their strengths at both ends of the pitch by scoring 19 times in that run, and conceding just three goals including a clean sheet against Chelsea in a 2-0 win which ended the leaders’ 13-match winning run.
While it may seem to some as though Spurs don’t need to strengthen during the January transfer window, there are certainly some players that the punters at the bar know would further enhance their bid to win their first-ever Premier League trophy.
For example, manager Mauricio Pochettino may be looking for another striker to take some off the pressure off of top marksman Harry Kane, while he may also need some cover in attacking midfield and on the wing should any of his key men pick up any injuries or suspensions.
