The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been throwing praise at their experienced left-back, Danny Rose. The England man turns 28 today and as Tottenham Hotspur tweeted him a happy birthday the fans have been pitching in with their compliments for the 20-cap international.

The Tottenham fans propping our bar up have developed a strange relationship with Danny Rose. Throughout the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season’s he was one of the best left-backs in world football, owning the left-flank for the Lilywhites with no one able to get close to him. However, injury saw him miss most of last season and then mental health issues that he has only recently come out and spoken about have hindered him.
Today, he’s in the England squad and will be preparing for England’s round-of-sixteen tie with Colombia tomorrow evening. The Spurs fans will be hoping he can have the perfect belated birthday presents of advancing past Colombia and signing a new Spurs contract, although that looks unlikely at the moment as last season saw him lose his s=first-team place to Ben Davies and with interest from Manchester United, the now 28-year-old could be on the move.

As you can see, the Spurs fans in the Tavern are keen to keep Rose at the club, despite a troubled campaign last time out.
