Tottenham Hotspur have displayed moments of quality and class in the current campaign as a disappointing summer transfer window appears to have had very little effect.
The Lilywhites failed to secure all three points against Watford last time out as they conceded two late goals after taking the lead. Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to get back to winning ways after the international break as they can’t afford any more slip-ups.
It’s important that the Argentine can identify his best XI to really challenge at the top of the table and ensure some consistency.
Therefore, in an ideal world where injuries aren’t a problem and with the Premier League title at stake, here’s an idea of what Pochettino’s amazing XI should look like…
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR’S AMAZING XI
We’ve gone with a 4-2-2-1-1 formation, as that is the formation that would benefit Tottenham moving forward and would allow for Pochettino to make use of his strongest players.
Hugo Lloris is always consistent in-between the sticks and he will be crucial to Spurs’ title push as one of the world’s best.
Tottenham Hotspur have one of the best central defensive partnerships in world football in the form of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Indeed, Danny Rose appears to be back in Pochettino’s plans and is already looking impressive, while Kieran Trippier has been one of the standout performers.
In midfield, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele will be in control of the middle of midfield and snuffing out any oncoming attacks. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli will operate in more advanced roles looking to have a positive impact in the final third.
Lastly, the Lilywhites’ front two will consist of Lucas Moura and Harry Kane. The Brazilian has been superb in the current campaign as he single-handedly downed Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the forever-reliable Kane at the pinnacle of the attack.
