Another Huge Foreign Talent Redknapp Is Incapable Of Communicating With Set To Walk Away From The Lane

Giovani dos Santos will be a target for the Turkish “big three” this January as the new seasons looks to offer much of the same for the Mexican star.

InsideFutbol is reporting that Besiktas, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are all interested.

Giovani’s tenure at Tottenham Hotspur has been tough, no question about. Arriving under Juande Ramos from Barcelona for an estimated £6m, it was seen as one of the better moves in that particular transfer window. Unfortunately for Gio, Ramos didn’t last long and his replacement Harry Redknapp hasn’t managed to incorporate him into the team.

He has been farmed out on loan to Real Sociedad, Galatasaray and Ipswich Town. He has made just 12 appearances for the Spurs first team since joining in 2008 and it hasn’t gotten any better for him this season.

Having stated he is not up for accepting a bit-part role in the team, a few late cameos is all he’s got to show for Tottenham’s opening 4 fixtures. While it is a shame that he looks destined to leave as he has considerable talent, the truth of the matter is that the Spurs midfield is packed full of talent he simply cannot surpass.

Jermaine Jenas has left on loan unable to get a game. The unlikely but ultimately successful retention of Luka Modric at White Hart Lane has left Harry Redknapp with a plethora of options despite Wilson Palacios leaving for Stoke.

There will be plenty of options for dos Santos away from Spurs though, as Galatasaray have expressed an interest in signing him permanently along with rival enquiries from Besiktas and Fenerbahce – according to InsideFutbol.

He has proven on a number of occasions, both on loan and for the Mexican national team, that he has talent and potential in abundance and it would be a shame to see him exit the Premier League should the move materialise.

What do you think of dos Santos? Get rid of the dead weight or get him into a starting role? Has Redknapp failed yet again to unlock the potential of a star just as he did with Adel Taraabt and Kevin-Prince Boateng?
