The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ve been left so impressed by manager Mauricio Pochettino’s development of youth have been left shocked that one of their most highly rated talents could soon be off.

According to HITC Sport, via the Sun, midfielder Alex Pritchard is believed to be a target of Rafa Benitez’s as he plots Newcastle’s escape from the Championship next season.

The 23-year old is a hugely rated talent, though saw the momentum picked up from his loan spell with Brentford in the Championship derailed through an ankle injury.

An unsuccessful loan spell with West Bromwich Albion saw his stock fall even further, though former Bees boss Mark Warburton was thought to be keen on bringing him to Rangers this summer.

Swansea City are also understood to be keen on the ex-England under-21 international.

However, the Toon Army are said to have tossed their hat into the ring with doubts over the futures of both Georginio Wijnaldum and Moussa Sissoko.

Will Benitez restore Newcastle to the Premier League at the first time of asking?
