Tottenham have begun their campaign in fine fashion but still there seems to be something missing for their silverware hunt.
They have a great manager in the form of Mauricio Pochettino and they have a great set of players, including the likes of England captain Harry Kane and the great Dane Christian Eriksen. However, the mentality of Tottenham over the years has been to challenge rivals to the title up until the very last moment and then stumble at the last hurdle, a curse that has to be lifted.
To improve that like all their rivals have done, they need to add quality squad depth that means should they get devastating injuries to key players, they have a solution sitting on the pitch to resolve the situation.
By delving into the transfer market in January and signing someone like Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo and Tottenham could add a new, exciting dimension to their squad.
Brekalo, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) has come to life early on this season and stunningly drawn up comparisons to Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben. Despite being right-footed unlike Robben, his darting runs inside of defenders have made many think that the Croatian could be the next best thing coming from the wing and with the ability to also play as a forward, Brekalo could be a brilliant squad player for Tottenham to utilise.
He has assisted two goals in 3 appearances so far this campaign but with Brekalo only aged 20, it’s easy to see why he is already so highly regarded.
Tottenham have a great deal of quality and variety up-front but with the added addition of Josip Brekalo who can play anywhere across the front-line, their future is in capable hands.
