The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dreaming of their former star and current Galactico, Gareth Bale making a sensational return to North London with Mauricio Pochettino. Bale was uninspiring last night as Real Madrid progressed to the Champions League’s last four, being hooked at half-time as Los Blancos trailed 2-0 to Juventus.
Gareth Bale left Spurs for a then world record fee in 2013 after having an amazing year with Tottenham. In his five years since leaving White Hart Lane, the Welshman has accumulated three Champions League medals and could be set for a fourth, although his medal haul doesn’t accurately reflect his time in the Spanish capital. Madrid fans will tell you of their disappointment in Bale. The 28-year-old was signed as the heir to Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne, although injuries have halted his progress.
The Welsh wizard has been linked away from Madrid with a Premier League return being rumoured in every transfer window to date, Manchester United are always heavily touted to be Bale’s next destination, but with his history at Tottenham, it’s hard to call his next destination. The Spurs fans propping our bar up would LOVE to see Bale back in N17 and a summer deal would have him back for the club’s first season at their new stadium. Whilst the signing is a million miles away at the moment, it won’t prevent Spurs fans for holding out hope of seeing the 28-year-old back in Lilywhite.

Bale hauled off at halftime, it's time for him to take a wage cut and let Poch save his career.

Poor Gareth Bale. Perhaps Spurs can buy him back from Madrid, will make a mean team with Kane and Son.
