Chelsea

Chelsea outcast a much better England prospect than Tottenham’s maestro – Agreed?

Spurs and Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are full of positivity at the prospect of them both homing potential future stars.

Chelsea have never really been renowned for their farming of potential future talent, but in recent times, the rise of Ruben Loftus-Cheek has got an air of excitement ringing around Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have always been open to the progression and development of their young stars, with Mauricio Pochettino being very open to giving them opportunities to impress.

England have always been quite lucky to consistently have a flurry of bright young kids looking to make their mark on the big stage. They just never to anything at a major tournament. However, over the past month, they’ve enjoyed a real boost, with Spurs’ midfield maestro Harry Winks and Chelsea loanee Reuben Loftus-Cheek making breakthroughs into the senior national ranks.

With England call-ups likely becoming a regular thing for these two men, who has the potential to cement their central midfield spot?

Harry Winks has always had high expectations to live up to in having so much attention surrounding him. But for a boy who was cleaning the boots of Gareth Bale during his time at Spurs, he’s come along way from the depths of the youth team.

A spot became available in the first team when injuries were sustained by Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele and he just hasn’t looked back since. Indeed, after being given the opportunity, he certainly made the most of it which has seen him gain valuable European and domestic experience.

Undoubtedly, the highest moment of his career was the fact he outplayed the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in the Champions League.

However, Reuben Loftus-Cheek has endured a more frustrating time of things, as his time at Chelsea has been very limited under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Youth seemingly isn’t thought highly of at Stamford Bridge under their structure, with the so-called ‘ready-made’ players being given the opportunities.

But he was handed a route out with a loan move to Crystal Palace, where he has never looked back with an incredible run of form, which could perhaps be leaving Conte full of regret.

So, we’re asking fans, who’s the more talented prospect?
