Colossal boost for Spurs with contract rebel eager to force through £25m move

Victor Wanyama

Despite an awful end to the season, a joyous feeling of optimism has seeped back into the pint glasses of the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern, who now view them as half full again.

As the North London outfit gear up for life back in the Champions League, they’ve reportedly been handed a major boost in terms of a potential player arrival.

According to the Sun, Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is ready to force through a move to join former coach Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane this summer.

The bruising midfielder was a target for the Argentine last summer, though proved unable to prize away from the South Coast.

However, the Kenyan is now understood to be ready to snub the Saints’ offer of a new deal and leave them with a transfer headache.

Entering the final 12 months of his deal, the club will be forced to listen to offers for the former Celtic star, who they are said to rate at around £25m.

Is Wanyama too much of a liability?
