Daniel Levy To Offer His Best Player £3.5M Golden Handcuffs

Spurs fans may have hoped all the Luka Modric transfer saga was over, but as the summer approaches rumours are once again heating up.

Sir Alex has been in the press making very favourable comments about Modric. Comparing him to United’s Scholes ”Scholes and Modric are both intelligent footballers,”

”They both influence their teams as well so it is a reasonable comparison. I don’t think they are identical players but they have the same qualities in terms of controlling a game.

With Sir Alex’s comments, and Chelsea in need of rebuilding in the summer, a nervous Spurs are offering star playmaker Modric a new bumper deal.

There has been a long-standing offer to make Modric the clubs highest paid player at £100,000 a week. But as Modirc has stalled with this deal, chairman Levy is now adding a £3.5 million loyalty bonus to the deal.

Although all fans would like to see Modric stay at the club as long as possible, how much can a should Spurs keep offering the player? And is Modric just holding the club for ransom?

With Harry’s future uncertain, Spurs can’t afford any more open question leading into the summer. Bale has also been increasingly linked with Barca, and VDV future is also open to question. Spurs really need some firm commitments from these players about their future, even if Harry ends up leaving. We have seen instability already effect Spurs form.

Is now the time to clear up Spurs future and get some plans for the summer, even if that means solving the Modric question by letting him leave (for big money) ?

The clubs best player, but how much more patience does Levy and club have?
