Our Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern are pretty happy with how their squad is looking at the moment but, according to The Daily Mail, they could be about to lose one man from it.
Mauricio Pochettino has assembled a fine looking outfit with plenty of attacking threat and defensive solidity combined with the ability to grow given they’re such a young team.
A top four finish is a must for them to carry on that progression, though, with it a journey that Nabil Bentaleb looks set to be away from.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been on loan with German side Schalke this season after falling down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and could trigger a permanent move this weekend.
If he makes 20th appearance against Cologne, which he should, he’ll be able to agree a £16 million deal with the club to keep him there permanently.
He’s played well this season, too, and so our landlord can see no reason why he won’t want to make such a move permanent given his playing time at Spurs is still far from assured.
