The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Real Madrid’s valuation of Welsh wizard, Gareth Bale. According to AS, Madrid have put a price tag of £88 million on the former Spurs man, leading many Spurs fans to believe the transfer would be unable to happen. Although most fans would love to see Bale light up the new stadium next season as he did with White Hart Lane.

Spurs fans said goodbye to Gareth Bale at the end of the 2012/13 season as the winger left for the Santiago Bernabeu. Since his move to Los Blancos, Bale has been apart of an all-conquering Madrid team that’s won three of the last four Champions League titles. Despite becoming become one of the world’s most decorated players since leaving North London, Bale has struggled with injuries in Madrid and has constantly been linked with moves back to the Premier League as Manchester United and Tottenham always seem to pop up with interest in the player.
It won’t be plain sailing for Spurs if they are to bring Bale back to N17, as the wages will be astronomical and would require Daniel Levy to break his strict wage structure of not paying any player more than £100,000 per week. The club will no doubt have to break their wage structure at some point as Mauricio Pochettino continues to turn Spurs into a European powerhouse. The Lilywhites have played back-to-back seasons in the Champions League for the first time in their history and look set to go on and become a successful team domestically. Whilst it’ll be easier for Spurs to climb to the top with Bale, it would be a longshot to see him rejoin the North London.
Here’s the Spurs fans’ reaction to the Bale rumours:
Never gonna happen, can’t afford to pay Toby’s asking wage, let alone bales

tbf we don't need to strengthen in any other areas so would make sense to blow our whole transfer budget on a world class player
