Erik Lamela has perhaps summed up the recent rise of Tottenham Hotspur in the Transfer Tavern the most. While there was a time when the Argentine was lambasted by the Spurs supporting punters, he is now lauded.
Ever since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, the 24-year old has established himself as one of the best players at White Hart Lane, despite the early struggles he endured following his huge move from Roma in 2013.
Clearly, he’s not Gareth Bale, but his upward trajectory in the past couple of seasons has at least helped the punters get over the Welshman’s departure somewhat.
So, imagine their chagrin when reports from Gazzetta World claimed Inter Milan are plotting a huge move for the ex-River Plate winger.
Amazingly, the San Siro giants could also include Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic – who has been linked with both Spurs and Arsenal – in a deal to prize the Argentina star away.
Is Lamela far too important to sell at White Hart Lane?
