European giant plot new contract to fend off Spurs’ interest in attacker

Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are high on spirits this week, as they’re excitedly discussing a potential FA Cup and Premier League double this season.

The Lilywhites face a stern test if they are to overhaul their four point deficit to Chelsea, who they clash with this weekend in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, but fans are confident their beloved side can do the unthinkable.

Others are refusing to get carried away though and are instead sat by the pool tables discussing potential signings this summer, with AC Milan winger Suso being one name being thrown about as a potential recruit.

TalkSport, citing Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, claims Spurs are interested in the former Liverpool man- although Milan are keen to keep the Spaniard at the San Siro and are plotting a new deal to secure his status with the club.

Suso has excelled in the Serie A this season, boasting the joint-best assist record in the league with nine, and his current Milan contract runs until 2019- but a new deal would extend that until 2021.

Our landlord doesn’t necessarily believe signing Suso would be a good move for Spurs though, as he fails to see where exactly he’d fit into the first-team.

Would Suso be a good signing for Spurs this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
