Despite a good run of form under Jose Mourinho of late, the visit of RB Leipzig in the Champions League last night proved too much for a Tottenham side who saw their performance criticised by journalists such as Miguel Delaney.
Indeed, Jacob Steinburg of the Guardian wrote of how it seemed as if the German outfit were playing a ‘different sport’ to the home side last night and suggested Spurs were lucky to travel to the away leg only trailing by a goal. Furthermore, while debate in regards to the approach deployed by Mourinho rages on, one of the major talking points was the substitution of Dele Alli.
Hauled off in the 64th minute, the England international appeared to react angrily (a photo of him slamming a water bottle down when preparing to sit down was tweeted out by Hotspur Related) though, in truth, did fairly little to impact upon proceedings during his time on the pitch. As per SofaScore, Alli won just 3/6 of his ground duels and was beaten in the air the only time he attempted a challenge, while also losing the ball 7 times.
Should Tottenham sell Dele Alli in 2020?
With that in mind, here’s a look at how some of the fans reacted.

Maybe if he showed that much passion on the pitch he’d stay on the whole game!
